1. Pre-Operation Preparation and Inspection
Before starting a mini excavator, be sure to conduct a thorough inspection:
Fluid Level Check: Verify that the engine oil, hydraulic oil, and coolant are sufficient.
Fuel Check: Fill with diesel of the appropriate grade to avoid water or impurities in the fuel.
Component Inspection: Inspect the tracks, rollers, and bolts for looseness or wear.
Safety Check: Ensure the cab seat, seat belts, and operating handles are in proper condition.
Doing so will not only prevent starting difficulties but also effectively reduce operational risks.
2. Standard Operation to Maximize the Advantages of Mini Excavators
Although mini excavators are small in size, they still require proper operation:
Starting and Warming Up: After ignition, idle for 3-5 minutes until the engine temperature returns to normal before resuming operation.
Proper Digging: When working in gardens or farmland, maintain a proper angle between the bucket and the ground to avoid digging too deep at once.
Avoid Overloading: Mini excavators have limited power. Forcing them to operate at excessive loads not only reduces efficiency but can also damage the hydraulic system. Smooth Shutdown: Before finishing work, let the engine run at low speed for 2-3 minutes, then shut it off after the temperature drops.
3. Daily Maintenance and Care
Engine Maintenance
Replace the engine oil and oil filter every 250 hours;
Keep the air filter clean and replace if necessary;
Regularly check the belt tension and cooling system.
Hydraulic System Maintenance
Check the hydraulic oil level and quality, and replace the hydraulic oil every 1000 hours;
Clean or replace the hydraulic oil filter regularly;
Check the hydraulic lines for leaks.
Chassis and Tracks
Clean the tracks from dirt and rocks after each operation;
Adjust the track tension according to the working conditions to prevent excessive looseness or tightness.
Electrical System
Check the battery charge to ensure smooth starting;
Check the lighting, warning lights, and horn to ensure safe operation.

4. Seasonal and Long-Term Storage Precautions
Summer High Temperatures: Avoid continuous full-load operation for extended periods and regularly inspect the cooling system.
Winter Low Temperatures: Use fuel and oil suitable for low temperatures and preheat the engine before operation. Long-term storage: Store the machine in a dry garage, drain the fuel tank, apply anti-rust oil to metal parts, and start it up regularly to maintain performance.
5. Regular Inspection and Professional Maintenance
Even if routine maintenance is performed properly, your mini excavator should be taken to a professional repair shop for a comprehensive inspection regularly:
Test the performance of the hydraulic pump and valve block;
Check the sensitivity of the safety valve and control handle;
Test the chassis for wear and replace parts as necessary.
This can effectively reduce unexpected failures and ensure construction progress.
As flexible and efficient engineering tools, mini excavators are not only suitable for farm and garden operations, but can also easily complete small municipal and household projects. However, this requires users to pay attention to daily inspection and maintenance. Only by practicing "scientific operation + systematic maintenance" can the mini excavator truly realize its value and become a long-term, reliable construction partner.
